The war in Iraq had started, you would think less would show up for a peace march. It was just the opposite. It was The march that reached its destination more than 40 NY blocks away before the time it was supposed to start. Four hours later, 4 pm, marchers were still arriving in Washington Square. The tail of the march was at 14th Street at 4:30 pm. I met up with them walking back home.
