From
the management of AVVF: The right of return is a
right recognized under international law for every
individual displaced from his/her home under the duress.
It is the individual and cannot be negotiated away
by a community, a government, or an organization. Al-awda.org
as a coalition is working toward raising that awareness
not only within western society but also among Palestinian
refugees. To that end, Al-awda is involved in various
projects such as "The Wheels of Justice", and,
"The Oral History Project" among others. Click

web site and learn more about their efforts. Below are
excerpts from the About Us section of Al-awda.org. |
Who
We Are
The
Palestine Right to Return Coalition (Al-Awda is Arabic
for "THE RETURN") is a broad-based
non-partisan global democratic association of thousands
of grassroots activists and organizational
representatives concerned for the Palestinian Refugees
Right of Return. The purposes for which PRRC is formed
are educational and charitable and relate to human
rights of Palestinian Refugees. Goals
include:
1. Educate the US public and the international community
on legal and moral issues vis-a-vis Palestinian refugees
based on The Universal Declaration of Human Rights,
International Law and through the implementation of
United Nations Resolutions upholding the inalienable
right of Palestinians to return to their homeland and to
restitution of all their confiscated and destroyed
property
2. Educate non- profit Human Rights Organizations
(National and International) and any group seeking such
information on the plight of the Palestinian refugees.
3. Extend and coordinate educational efforts and
initiatives for social justice and Palestinian rights
beyond their defined geographic locations, thereby
leveraging the power of networking while linking
together and empowering dispersed activities.
4. Help the refugees with empowerment projects and
humanitarian aid when and where needed.
